I always like to do something fun for holiday's

and Valentines Day is no exception.

I love the little conversation hearts

you get in the little pink boxes

with the clever antidotes.

So I thought I would create my own

Primary Song Conversation Hearts.

Display all of the hearts on the board

and let the children guess what they are.

Have one child chose a heart to sing.

Have children act out a scene then show the peace sign if it represents peace.  Thumbs down if it does not.

To help the children understand the melody of the chorus have them pitch lead with their bodies.

The chorus is the same for all three versus.  On the third verse I will insert a rit. at measure 11  "The Holy Ghost....  Hold (Know what is right) for 3 counts each.

I want the children to remember the meaning of the words they sing in this song. I hope that this lesson will help paint a picture in their minds.

Who will share the story of Adam and Eve?

When Adam partake of the forbidden fruit he gained a knowlege of good and evil. 

Because Adam and Eve made that choice, when we are born we have the power to choose.

We are given the power to choose for ourselves,

we will make our own choices good or bad

and  have consequences good or bad.

"Snowball" choices

write one choice on each square of paper. 

hand one square of paper to each child

Ask if they know how to throw a snowball?

have them crumple up the square of paper into a "snowball" and throw it at you.

You now have a lot of "snowballs" to choose from.

Choose one "snowball" and read the choice.  How can making a good choice bless their family?

Book of Mormon Stories:  After becoming totally blind at the age of forty-two, Elizabeth F. Bates determined that she would not let her blindness prevent her from learning and doing all she could.  After losing her sight, she eared two bachelor's degrees and two master's degrees from the University of Utah and invented a code that allows the blind to compose music on a typewriter.

Eighteen years after completely losing her sight, she was reflecting on her love of the Book of Mormon and of the United States; capturing those feelings, she wrote the words and music to "Book of Mormon Stories."  Her simple and memorable song consisted of two verses that are often sung with accompanying hand gestures.

In 1988, the song was used throughout the Church for the Priary sacrament meeting presentation, themed on the Book of Mormon.  The program showcased six additional verses written by Nancy K. Daines Carter that detailed specific people from the Book of Mormon, including Alma, Abinadi, Ammon, the Stripling Warriors, and Samuel the Lamanite.  Sister Carter's additional verses culminate in the appearance of the Savior to the Nephites at the temple in Bountiful.  Her verses follow the original two-verse song in the Children's Songbook.

Ask for ten volunteers to come up and choose one footstep each. 

Give the last two the CTR Ring - Prop and the Picture of Christ.
